Solv Studio

George Mahoney introduced me to his line of furniture, Solv. I often wondered how one can make wooden slats new and interesting, but he has done exactly that.

+ We Want To Believe is the name of this flying saucer lounge table by Quack. The table has landed, and at its control centre is a hole to fit a bowl for fruit or snacks.

+ Miguel Angel Roca‘s Calamuchita house in Argentina is a glass pavilion anchored by four stone pillars. Its tower mimics the nearby mountain, and the lower level living space is a reflection of the surrounding valley.

+ The DsRt sofa by Vincent Cadena is a sleek offering whose arms can be used as side tables or benches.

+ This minimalist chair, to be found in an Arles museum, is by Toulouse architect Frédéric Rhodes.

+ Cake re-interprets the classic mint julep cup in black or white stoneware by adding a bas relief swallow (or octopus) to each side.
